  1. And the award for most unusual Lucy photo goes to...
  2. Ann and Van and Cyd and Kathryn Grayson with John Davidson.
  3. Tony Award-winning playwright Terrence McNally has died at 84 of coronavirus related complications. There was an excellent American Masters documentary about him a few months ago.
  4. NBC has announced the episode will air April 9. "WILL & GRACE" "WE LOVE LUCY" ORIGINAL 04/09/2020 (09:00PM - 09:30PM) (Thursday) : Will claims living with Grace is like Ricky living with Lucy. When Karen and Jack hear this, they each claim that they are the Lucy of the group. Grace, Karen, and Jack each imagine themselves as Lucy (during “Vitameatavegamin,” “Chocolate Factory,” and “Grape-Stomping”), with Will as the Ricky to all of them. Lucie Arnaz and Leslie Jordan guest star.
  5. Mame is on TCM right now and my cable summary of the movie is “Woman (Lucille Ball) wiped out in ‘29 weds millionaire (Robert Preston), lives fully.” This adaptation of the Mame Dennis story does seem to emphasize the romance more than other versions, but it seems odd not to mention the main aunt/son relationship in the description.
  6. Stuart Whitman, Oscar nominee for The Mark, has died at 92.
  7. Lyle Waggoner has passed away at 84.😪
  8. Rumormongering from the New York Daily News TV column December 1954:
  9. These are great! I don't know who Hall is, but do we recognize any of the other guests? Howard Rayfiel is next to Lucie in the last picture.
  10. Lucy gives James Garner a giant chocolate chip cookie on Dinah!
  11. An interview to promote Lucy Moves to NBC I had never read before:

  13. Time Magazine has created a list of 100 women who would have been chosen if Time’s “Man of the Year” was “Woman of the Year.” Lucy was the selection of “Woman of the Year” for 1951. https://time.com/5793549/lucille-ball-100-women-of-the-year/
  14. The Dentist episode is Ethel Merman and Went with the Wind is Dinah Shore. Three great guests including Betty!
  15. Fathom Events will be screening three Carol Burnett Show episodes on April 22! I hope these are the full shows. It’s not clear.
  16. True. Lucy only gets about an hour and fifteen minutes for phone calls before her two hour nap.
  17. I watched Lucy’s Schedule last night and, looking at the schedule, it is clear why Lucy never has time for anything. She goes to bed at midnight and wakes up at 10am and has a two hour midday nap! To be fair, that two hour nap period also includes time to do her nails.
  18. 90 years and one day ago, silent screen queen Mabel Normand died. Baby Peggy’s stardom ended six years before that!
  19. Diana Serra Cary, better known as the silent screen star “Baby Peggy,” has died at the age of 101. The documentary on her that aired on TCM a few years ago was very interesting. She was an extra in Having Wonderful Time after her fame faded. https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/baby-peggy-dead-silent-film-star-was-101-831926
  20. The Countess Framboise debuts her new single “Money Can Buy You Charm.”
  21. Actress/dancer Paula Kelly has died. She was sensational Helene in the film version of Sweet Charity and memorably played Marguerite the housekeeper on The Golden Girls. https://www.broadwayworld.com/article/Broadway-and-Film-Actress-Paula-Kelly-Dies-at-76-20200209
  22. Mame's wardrobe closet was raided for Jane Alexander's costumes as Hedda Hopper in the 1985 TV movie Malice in Wonderland. Wearing Joyce Van Patten's Sally Cato costume. Ms. Alexander's scene partner here: Joyce Van Patten!
  23. Audio of a 1958 Tonight Show with guest host Orson Bean and guest Sid Gould!
