  1. We’ve lost another television legend. https://people.com/tv/tim-conway-dies/
  2. Barbara Perry, who appeared in Lucy and Art Linkletter and Lucy Bags a Bargain, has died at 97. She also played Pickles Sorrell #1 on The Dick Van Dyke Show. https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/barbara-perry-dead-actress-dick-van-dyke-show-was-97-1207532
  3. Lucy was godmother to one of Barbara Pepper’s sons too. Jack Carter looks like he’s wearing love beads from the Richard Deacon collection there.
  4. in the tour of "Kiss the Boys Goodbye"
  5. Very sad. He also produced the pilot for The Zsa Zsa Gabor Show with Lucy. Winters wrote glowingly about Lucy in his autobiography.
  6. They also ended some scenes a few second early, including Lucy saying, “This is your old chum, Lucy” to Carolyn on the telephone. The edits on this episode were pretty seamless.
  7. The Million Dollar Idea seemed to be the least edited episode I can remember. I think they only cut Dickie Davis’ commercial, Lucy and Ethel talking about buying mink coats, and Lucy counting the jars in the living room.
  8. The shots of the TV set were in the original. I think the black and white picture made them stand out more here.
  9. Interesting article on the colorization process. https://www.tvinsider.com/765643/i-love-lucy-funny-money-special-cbs-colorized/?fbclid=IwAR0yD9HDnYE9QMjoNU0Wrx9NZBngmy-8HXiwjITzCF52lByDRhZOJpslc3E I think Lucy’s colorization looks the most natural in this special so far.
  10. Vulture has an article about other TV appearances made by the I Love Lucy cast. https://www.vulture.com/article/the-lost-adventures-of-the-i-love-lucy-cast.html
  11. Lucy was in four episodes. The first three were released on the first box set of the “lost” episodes and the fourth was on the 50th anniversary collection set.
  12. Georgia always had lines like “when you get to be our age...” with Betty on Hot in Cleveland. She was 27 years younger than Betty and 2 years older than Wendie Malick! Georgia was also brilliant on stage in the avant-garde Off Broadway drama “John” a few years ago. I wish the Times obit mentioned she won the coveted Obie Award for her performance, as well as her BAFTA nomination for the movie Taking Off.
  13. I had the great pleasure of seeing Georgia several times on stage, most recently less than a year ago in the musical "Half Time." She was outstanding in her role, in which she did a hip hop number!
  14. I'm stunned. Georgia Engel has passed away at the age of 70. https://www.nytimes.com/2019/04/15/obituaries/georgia-engel-dead.html What a singular talent!
  15. Wildcat was nominated for the Grammy for Best Musical Theatre album. How to Succeed in Business... won. Lucy won the Aegis Theatre Club Award. Don Tompkins won the Outer Critics’ Circle Award for Best Musical Performance.
  16. When I saw a production in 2010, I was surprised at how dark the show was at times. Joe slapped Wildy and there were two moments where he grabbed ahold of her and she cried, “You’re hurting me!” I was also surprised at how much time it seemed like Wildy was off stage. It sounds like this production made some cuts for the better.
  17. I’ve been following the story of this property for the past couple years and at least they don’t make any claim that Lucy actually lived there unlike the countless “Lucille Ball houses” across the country. I’m also curious about the “boring businessmen” Lucy dated in this period.
