leenorman
One minor correction, that's Motown head, Berry Gordy on the left. NOT Rosey Grier, then? Thanks for a positive on this...
Luvsbway
One minor correction, that's Motown head, Berry Gordy on the left. Thanks. I think I got the names mixed up. Tried to do that one from memory.
JoeySanJoaquin
Rickylu is correct, that's a bearded Roddy McDowall shaking hands James Aubrey (then head of CBS programming) and Judy's agent at the time, Freddie Fields in the center (looking a lot like Truman Capote). This was at the wrap party after the 1st taping of Judy's new CBS show (ya ready, JK) on 6/24/63. Thanks Rick! I would never have pegged that as Roddy McDowall!! JoeySanJoaquin
"We're the Girlfriends of the Whirling Dervish"!!! Awww memories!! It was after this episode taping (and of being in attendance for both the dress rehearsal and the show) of The Mary Tyler Moore Hour that I had the brief but unforgettable privilege of meeting Miss Ball!! Unfortunately....Mr. Ball--er, Golddapper was in tow and made the exchange all too brief. But I'll never forget it and am very, very grateful! Luvsbway
I like her outfit here because it creates a nice shape on her. I don't know anything about John Garfield but everytime I see his name I can only think of the exchange of dialogue about him in What Now Catherine Curtis.

Neil
I wonder where they are. Almost looks like the Mame number set behind them, but too early for that. So, about the time you almost ruined my career.
HarryCarter
I wonder where they are. Almost looks like the Mame number set behind them, but too early for that. This was during Critic's Choice. This was the setting for the scene of the party where she meets Rip Torn's character for the first time. Neil
...which is one of my favorite CC scenes. For Lucy's performance, not because of the scene itself. She tells Rip she's a writer but then gets caught. None of the Lucy character at all in her delivery or reactions. And she looks so darn good. I think by 1962, Winchell had pretty much been de-fanged.
Luvsbway
Edith Heads costumes helped bring out that sophisticated 60s style of this character. Not a big fan of the pic but her acting is very good in it.
Irene Kampen Tripp
I like the "Lucyless" of her performance... the movie not so much but Lucille in color looking HAWT and no "LUCY" in her behavior is refreshing.
Irene Kampen Tripp
Which makes me yearn for more movies with her being the character and not LUCY...uh oh well..we have what we have... YMAO...and MAME are great with just the right amount
