HarryCarter
2 more photos of Lucy and that suit she loved so much. Another sighting for the grey suit: I had forgotten that Lucy wears it in the "Lucy Upsets the Williams Household" episode of The Danny Thomas Show. Luvsbway
Not sure but my guess is that exhibit for the 100th birthday in LA. Wasn't it at some museum in Hollywood?
Mmadluv7
Yep, thats where it was taken at. I provided that picture for it but i didn't know thats where the dress came from until now! thanks Luvsbway
Luvsbway
After that Oscars video got posted I sort of put it together. I think there are 2 more times she wore it. I'll dig those up tonight.
C L A U D E
Shame it looks it's age. Hey, just saw the one where they all go dancing with Barbara Eden and noticed one of Lucy's nicest dresses worn by an extra again.

rickee
Yes, this shot was taken at the Lucy at 100 in 2011 at the centennial exhibit we worked on, held at the site of the old Max Factor Building now called the Hollywood Museum. LaMarr did a wonderful job of restoring the photo to go along with the exhibt to honor the dress...which is over 60 years old. The mere fact that it still exists is a marvel to the construction and designer (who at the moment I am forgetting). Thanks again, LaMarr. And just found this at the 1952 Oscars....she's too much! Was this the dress from the 1952 Oscars?
Mmadluv7
Anything for my two legends, you and Lucy! Well seeing Tom, Lucie, Allan and so many others happy was worth the work too. That night was probably the pinnacle of my Lucy moments to date lol EVERYTHING came full circle that night. I met Carole Cook, Lucie Arnaz, Doris Singleton, ugh, the list went on and on!!! It was so fun!
C L A U D E
Oh that was so nice to see, I'd seen parts of it before but I don't thin the whole thin. She looked absolutely stunning, even got a few laughs with straight lines and had no idea she presented THREE awards that night.
Luvsbway
A tribute to my favorite dress of the 80s. By far this is the best off screen dress she wore since the early 60s. The high collar makes her look taller. The black velvet is elegant and a great fabric for an older woman to wear. The length, again makes her look tall. My favorite part is the satin bow. It gave her a waist which a lot of dresses through the 70s and 80s did not. I also love it because it tops off the look, like she is this lovely Christmas package. Annaleigh
I agree. One of her most gorgeous dresses. I always wondered how hot that dress must be though! Haha!
C L A U D E
And heavy too. T V Hall of Fame, and a Hope special, where else did she wear that? Now how about showing the famous BLUE one which also was very elegant.

I find this whole series of photos incredibly touching. I'm a little surprised how they're affecting me, as I'm very moved by them. It reminds me I guess what a special, WUNDAFUL talent she was and how lucky we were to have her with us, even at 77 gone too soon.
C L A U D E
Well said Joey. Prompted ME to put that 8 by 10 glossy of her in a frame and put it up to see every day instead of lying in a book.

C L A U D E
YUP, THAT'S THE ONE! Lucy wore it to the Variety Clubs gala in her honor and at the opening of the Bob Hope Cultural Center where she hosted. That pic of her on the couch in the waiting room , well, she looks so wistful. I love how the dress can look so different in various situations or lighting. Was the Oscar dress very similar in style and I don't just mean the slit. C L A U D E
The reason she's laughing in that pic with Dolores Hope is that the photographer kept taking the picture but people kept walking in front of her while he was shooting. Love the elegance of the matching colored shoes which she did a lot.
Luvsbway
Another blue one Claude I'm sure you love. I think this first popped up sixth season of Here's Lucy if I'm correct. Did she get one made in pink?
Brock
I'm not sure if she wore the blue one on the show, but pretty sure the pink version was worn in Lucy Helps Ken Berry.
