I recently pulled these quotes from letters on the scrapbook CD Rom and thought you guys might enjoy them.  Also I jsut figured out these 2 photos were taken the same day.

“Watching you fly away from me last night was- well- I can’t put it in to words this morning more than I could talk last night. I didn’t cry- I was too dead for tears.” Letter Lucy wrote to Desi in Oct 1940 as he was flying back to NYC and they were going to be separated again.

“I already miss you very much and sincerely hope that you can be in New York next month, we’ll have the hell of a time. Work hard baby and be good, I promise to do the same.  Soon you will be a great star and I’m going to be awfully proud of you and I hope you will be proud of me too.”  Letter Desi wrote to Lucy in Oct 1940 as he was flying back to NYC and they were going to be separated again.

“My dreams are so realistic about you that it makes waking up a horrible disappointment. Do you know when you seem very very close to me?  Anytime I’m in these places you do not seem 3000 miles away- my bedroom- and damn that phone-my dressing room-and ditto the phone-a movie, any movie-the makeup department- I can hear you every morning the recording stage 2A or B and the still gallery.” – Letter to Desi  early Nov 1940.
