To answer your question -- I did turn down the part of Fred Mertz -- because I had just signed a contract with CBS to do a show called "Our Miss Brooks" with Eve Arden. There isn't any show that I did with dear Lucy that I could pick out as a 'favorite', because working with her, at any time, was pure joy! The nearly 14 years I was associated with Lucy Ball - were the most thrilling, instructive, and creative years of my long life! For the past ten years I have been doing "Dinner Theatre", mostly in Canada. My most recent endeavours have been The 'Burbs with Tom Hanks, and an episode of the new "Lassie" series.
