desilufan2
I've read parts of this letter but have never seen it in it's entirety. This letter is so touching. Im sure she felt the need to write it since by this time Desi was dying. I hope this letter helped Desi realize he would never be forgotten and that his own skills in television would always be honored. He wasn't "Mr. Ball"
Annaleigh
I've read parts of this letter but have never seen it in it's entirety. He deserved more praise like this! Desi was a genius. Very lovely.
C L A U D E
He deserved more praise like this! Desi was a genius. Very lovely. Hope she sent a similar letter to Lucy three years later. As without Lucy, there would have been no show and without Lucy insisting on casting Desi, even though they wanted none of that, none of his hidden talents would have come to the fore. vivfantoo*
I'm so glad Madelyn wrote this letter & sent it to Desi. I have always thought it was a shame he wasn't given the recognition he deserved while he was still alive. I've read this letter before; I think in Madelyn's autobiography. Brock
It's never a real party without Ethel Smith on the organ. If Louis Calhern is on the claves, one can only hope Ruth Hussey got the cuica.

desilufan2
I was just reading Desi's book again today. Man some of the stories he writes about are so funny. The guy really did have a twisted sense of humor. I reread the story of Fred Ball messing up one of his band members luggage and sending it off to the wrong wife. lol
C L A U D E
Absolutely great shots, boy, he really pushed that book. Gave my copy away but keep looking for it to replace it, it was a very good book, just wished the second one had come out to get the later Desi and Lucy.
