Fred, Ethel, and Lucy are bored watching Ricky's home movies. Ricky and Lucy make a bet that Ricky can't keep from losing his temper and that Lucy can't keep from buying a hat. Uncle Alberto is not impressed with Lucy. Lucy gives him more reasons why. Little Ricky is the lead in his school pageant. Little Ricky's father plays the part of the stage scenery. Lucy was fickled on whether she wanted to or not. Ricky is worried about the expenses for the new home. Fred rents out the Ricardos apartment before they leave. The renters buy all of the Ricardos's furniture. Lucy buys it back because she doesn't like what the new renters will do to them. Lucy hates to leave her friends and neighbors, the Mertzes. Lucy and Ricky are adjusting to the quiet noise of the country. Betty Ramsey, interior designs the Ricardos new home with early american furnituure. The Ricardos can't afford what Betty wants to purchase. The Ricardos are too ashamed to tell the Ramseys that they couldn't afford it. Ethel breaks that barrier after the Ramseys and Ricardos have a war over the furniture. Ricky is still worrying about the expenses and decides to raise chickens to sell eggs. Fred and Ethel become partners in the business. Easter comes early for the Ricardos and Mertzes after Lucy buys 500 baby chicks. After trading in the baby chicks for full grown hens. The hens don't start laying the eggs right away. Ricky sets a timeline when they should and if they fail, he will close up the business. Lucy and Ethel buy time by buying eggs to place in the hen house. Lucy and Ethel hide the eggs in their clothes but Ricky interrupts their efforts by wanting to rehearse the tango for the PTA show. Ricky ends the business after finding out about Lucy and Ethel's egg scheme. Later on chickens come up missing and are found in the Mertzes home and later in the Ricardos home. Each accuse each other of stealing them till Lucy is informed that the Ramseys have chickens in their home. They figure out that Little Ricky was up to some kind of scheme. The girls see the first part in its entirety at the evening performance. Both the boys aand the girls miss large chunks of the second part of the evening performance. They all missed the finale. Housewarming- Ethel doesn't like Betty because she is closer to Lucy than to her. Lucy attempts to make Betty and Ethel friends and succeeds. Lucy feels jealous that Betty and Ethel have become thick at thieves after finding out that they both grew up in the same town together. Lucy overhears a conversation between the two on the intercom and believes that they are planning a surprise housewarming party for her. Lucy and Ricky prepare for the surprise party and after a long lapse of time realize that there wouldn't be any. Lucy is depressed that she doesn't have any friends which Ethel overhears on the intercom. Ethel rounds up all of Lucy's neighbors and friends for an impromptu housewarming party. Madame Lemond, the ballet instructor isn't amused. Madame Lemond gives Lucy a good rehearsal work-out of 500 knee bends. Lucy buys a dress at a cost that Ricky disapproves. She goes to work to earn the money to keep it. She babysits two juvenile delinquents and win ann amateur contest hosted by Ricky Ricardo.
