C L A U D E
Dunno, but it should be, one of her best B movies, that's for sure.
HarryCarter
Five Came Back is not available on DVD. There is a problem with the quality of master print of the film, which has prevented Warner from releasing it.
C L A U D E
It is however available on your home dvds if you record it off of TCM on it's frequent airings.

I know, i stumbled upon the promo for it today, didn't even know she had done the show. Wonder why Lucy never did?
C L A U D E
Also, TCM is showing a whole slew of Bulldog Drummond movies in a few days, which one is the one WE have to look for?

Brock
Of all the nerve! Comedy Gold skipped Lucie's week -- as a consolation prize, however, we're getting a run of Match Game '73s featuring THE MOVIE STAR!!!
HarryCarter
Of all the nerve! Comedy Gold skipped Lucie's week -- as a consolation prize, however, we're getting a run of Match Game '73s featuring THE MOVIE STAR!!! I think some of the episodes of Lucie's week are lost or too damaged to air. Perhaps the network decided they didn't want to just air the two or three episodes of the week that are available. Neil
"Mame" makes its TCM premiere June 30th (It's about TIME!!!). Will be interested in the pre-show commentary. It's preceded by a showing of "Auntie Mame". "AM" runs 144 min. "Mame: 132 min. which includes 30 minutes of music. Other than the involvement with Mame's ghost-writer and the whole autobiography (which by the way is retained in the stage musical version), it doesn't seem like they cut much out. Lucy's Gloria is great but not quite as obnoxious as Joanna Barnes (which IMO weakens the motivation for Mame's put-down). In the scope of the musical, she's forgettable but everyone remembers Joanna's star turn performance culminating in the whole ping-pong saga. Maybe they should have given Gloria a song in the musical "It was just GHASTLY!"
Brock
You could practically write a whole book about how brilliant Joanna was as Gloria Upson.
Neil
You could practically write a whole book about how brilliant Joanna was as Gloria Upson. What makes that moment so great is that she interrupts some wistful nostalgic memory Patrick and Mame are sharing (missing from the musical!) Brock
Reminder for tonight's Mame double-header on TCM! It didn't dawn on me that this was going to be on a Tuesday night, which just so happens to be my drinking night. Now, I have a few hours to decide if I'm going to have a tiny triple, straight scotch, or a double martini with a twist of lemon and very, very dry.
Luvsbway
I'm going straight scotch. Let's hope it ends better then Saturday night when I had 4 straight scotches. Very anxious to her the intro and exits for this movie.
Freddie2
Yikes. Nobody's going to be home tonight and I don't know how to work the cable, let alone record anything. Maybe I'll call up grandma and ask for a favor...
