Conflicts during shooting of "Lucy & The Monsters"?

Recommended Posts

I seem to recall reading somewhere that Lucille and Vivian were greatly at odds with one another during the filming of the season 3 "Lucy Show" episode "Lucy & The Monsters". It was the last episode aired before Vivian's 3 episode hiatus (where Ann Sothern came in), but I'm not sure if it was shot directly before the Countess shows or not.

Can anyone confirm or refute that they were having severe problems with one another at that point? Obviously, there was tension that season because Vivian did leave at the end of it, but I'm curious as to the extent of it.

I understand it was the last produced episode of the season. Some have said that the air was tense that week because they knew by then that Vivian wasn't returning.

Exactly, that's all it was, they NEVER had problems working together.

Actually, "Lucy & the Old Mansion" was the last filmed episode of the season. I know Ann Sothern commented on the sad tension on the set for that week.
