Rick McKay, who directed the invaluable documentary, Broadway: The Golden Age, has died at 57. He leaves behind two unfinished docs: Broadway: Beyond the Golden Age and Broadway: The Next Generation.

I think about every 6 months someone asks on the Bway boards what is going on with those unfinished docs. There is so much footage there. I hope it gets used somehow.

Broadway star Jan Maxwell has died at 61. She was a favorite of the Tony nominators, but, unfortuntately, never won the award. She was a talented dramatic, comedic, and musical actress and it was clear in interviews that she had a great sense of humor.
