Something to Sing About

Recommended Posts

Hi there: During one of my recent trips to the Goodwill store, I found this VHS tape that stood out for me to see William Frawley's name on the title. It is a 1937 musical called 'Something to Sing About' with James Cagney and Gene Lockhart..haven't watched it yet . Anyone heard from this or have seen it?

Haven't watched that one but Frawley is very good in the 1937 musical HIGH WIDE AND HANDSOME starring Irene Dunne, Dorothy Lamour, and Randolph Scott - and Elizabeth Patterson in a nice role. He sings in this one and I like his vocals much better here than in that barber shop/vaudeville style he always does on ILL.

But he must have sung in a much different KEY than did Ethel as i just saw the one where he's singing Red Red Robin and she wants to sing with him as she makes him exit the apartment and she is singing so off key it' s annoying.
