Shemp
American International Pictures took the "beach movie" series into space with SERGEANT DEADHEAD (1965). MGM/UA will release this on March 27, a new entry in the studio's MOD-DVD-r line. Gale Gordon costars. Also appearing [with Lucy links] are Eve Arden, HL guest actor Cesar Romero, and Lucy's comedy mentor Buster Keaton. Image from ClassicFlix.com... That's quite a cast there, with or without ole' Soggycrotch!
Brock
Thanks for the heads-up! Can't wait to see it again. I taped it years ago but the VHS has been at large for several years now. Fun little move and great to see Gale and Eve together again!
Neil
I NEVER miss a Pat Buttram movie.... I Tivo'd "Palm Springs Weekend" and watched Carole Cook's scenes. Like "Limpet" she's paired with Jack Weston. Carole's good but the movie: MEH! It was directed by Sgt. Deadhead's Norman Taurog whose specialty must have been schlock. mark bale
It was great when the old Hollywood faces appeared in these Beach movies. I love em. Will be getting this (and some of the others) this year. One of my favourites bits was the closing credits of PAJAMA PARTY with Buster Keaton and Elsa Lanchester doing a hilarious disco dance. Brian Mc
This movie is considered part of the AIP "Beach Party" movies so this is also essential for all Frankie/Annette completists as well.
