After going over to subtly grill her like a cheese sandwich on whether she's a widow, where her money came from, and who those men are that come and go from her place at night. Getting nowhere, Lucy and Ethel devise a theory that they might get more information out of her if they visited her one-on-one. Lucy takes Mrs. Arden to the Westport Cafe and it isn't long before the police storm the joint, trying to take down Mrs. Arden as the leader of an international jewel cartel. Packing a rod, Mrs. Arden takes Lucy as her hostage and the two go on a Thelma and Louise style joyride with the Police, and Ricky, Fred, Ethel, and Mrs. McGillicuddy in hot pursuit.

Mrs. Arden: Thelma Ritter

Life With Lucy Brock is on a roll! These are truly inspired! Have you ever considered -- along with your other endeavors -- writing for film/TV? If not scripts, treatments/story ideas? You've got the knack, kid! (And I love how you know your history well to integrate it into the "stories of the day"!

Comedy Hour #19 – The Ricardos Go To Bonn

Following the success of Ricky’s latest film, superstar Marlene Dietrich invites Ricky to be part of a new television special she is producing, hosting, and performing for American soldiers stationed in West Germany. Also part of the show is recently inducted singer Elvis Presley. On arrival at their luxury hoten, Lucy thinks Marlene being overly attentive to her husband and suspects she is after more than Ricky’s talent and Ricky is loving every minute of it. The sexy numbers they’re rehearsing aren’t doing anything to help matters either. Meanwhile, Elvis, who has harboured an oedipal crush on Marlene for most of his life becomes insanely jealous of the attention she is lavishing on Mr. Ricardo and he and Lucy concoct their own affair to make the other two jealous.

Guest Stars: Marlene Dietrich, Elvis Presley.

Trivia: An unknown Johnny Cash, also stationed overseas, makes an appearance as one of Marlene’s adoring fans at the airport, as does Priscilla Beaulieu who, oddly enough, is an extra as one of Ricky's bobbysoxers.

Note: William Frawley does not appear in this episode. Vivian Vance has a brief scene where Ethel recieves a telegram from Lucy outlining her scheme with Elvis. Ethel calls Diana Jordan to find out who this "Elvis Whatshisname" is.

Comedy Hour #20 – Battle of the Redheads

When word gets around Town that Garry Moore is looking for a new redhead to add to his comedy troupe, Lucy gets an idea. Remembering the success that young whipper-snapper Carol Burnett had with her novelty song I’m in Love With John Foster Dulles, Lucy and Ethel concoct a humorous but sentimental and snappy ditty about her late lamented love Mayor La Guardia. Entitled “Mambo Fiorello”, Garry Moore is less impressed by Lucy’s talents than her sheer nerve and pluck, and puts Lucy on the shortlist for the job. Lucy sees red, however, when Carol Burnett herself shows up to audition, bringing about a battle of the redheads, as they both try to outdo each other in making an impression on Garry.

Guest Stars: Garry Moore, Carol Burnett

Comedy Hour #21: Lucy's Kissing Booth

Lucy & Ethel are eagerly preparing for the upcoming Westport Fair, with both volunteering to run kissing booths. Lucy manages to snag a few more than Ethel at first, but neither are rolling in it after a few days. Betty then brings along a distant young cousin of hers, Goldie Hawn, and being a rising celebrity her booth attracts scads of men. Lucy & Ethel are quite jealous, and are determined to get the young Laugh-in whippersnapper out of the way so they can score the kisses. The final straw for both women is when Ricky and Fred keep running back to the end of her line!

That afternoon, Lucy lures Goldie to the ferris wheel(with which she's been tinkering) with the intention of sticking her at the top, but she and Ethel get stuck in the seat instead and THEY wind up stuck at the top. The supervisor tries to get things going again, with the result that it starts up again at warp speed and sends the girls flying around in rapid circles. It'll take everybody's favourite bubble-headed blonde to woo the right security guards to save them.

Comedy Hour #22: Lucy & The Fireside Chat

Westport is all a twitter. Everybody is bustling around, making sure the Town is ship-shape. The Westport City Fathers have invited Mrs. Roosevelt to make Westport a stop on her latest nation-wide speaking tour. Lucy, Ethel, and Betty, of course, have volunteered to head up the welcoming committee and have turned into organizational dynamos to make sure everything goes on without a hitch. Come the big day, they are in the front row when Eleanor makes her speech and afterwards they go backstage to invite her around for tea. She graciously accepts and speaking tho the Ricardos, Mertzes, and Ramsays at close quarters, she inspires the girls to make a difference. The next week, Lucy and Betty find themselves in an election race to become Westport's very first female city councillor. Meanwhile, Ethel is caught in the middle on who to support -- divided by her loyalty to Lucy and increasing pressure from her visiting father to support Betty out of loyalty to her as a "daughter" of the Albuquerque Lodge.

"Lucy and Carolyn Hunt Uranium in Mayberry"

(an attempt to reunite all the recently dearly departed)

Andy Taylor has his hands full with excited townsfolk when a uranium strike is reported on Asa Bascomb's property. The news reaches New York City and Lucy armed with her 'electronic popsicle" is raring to do and enlists the help of the two greediest, penny-pinchingest friends she knows, Carolyn Appleby and Fred Mertz. Meanwhile in North Hollywood, Steve Douglas has the same idea and with son Robby driving, he brings along Bub and 'family friend' Margaret Williams. When Andy arrests both groups for trespassing they're housed in adjoining cells in the Mayberry jail along with Otis and Luke and their new drinking buddy Harpo Marx. It's not long before Lucy, Fred and Carolyn are re-enacting the "Duck Soup" mirror routine with Harpo, Bub and Margaret driving newly-deputized Goober to drink, and Otis and Luke on the wagon!

Luke: Frank Cady. Goober: George Lindsay. Carolyn Appleby/Margaret Williams: Doris Singleton. Robby: Don Grady. Special Guest Star: Andy Griffith.

Maybe Susie McNamara can drunkenly stumble in and swipe some Mayberry water for her mother to taste, inadvertently letting everyone out ;)

Am I correct in stating that Ann's TV characters, Susie and Katy are the only ones played by the same person who both knew Lucy Ricardo?

And, not counting mary Jane Lewis, is Danny Williams the only TV character who knew two DIFFERENT incarnations of Lucy?

To pad out the "Uranium in Mayberry" Hour, I think Susie MacNamara should be stewed with Aunt Bee!
