Brock
From Backstage.com American Theatre Wing Announces Grant RecipientsBy Daniel Holloway September 23, 2010 The American Theatre Wing announced today the recipients of its 2010 National Theatre Company Grants. In a departure from previous years, the organization will give grants of $10,000 each to 10 U.S. theaters. In past years, the ATW has issued a larger number of grants for fewer dollars. Last year, 50 theaters received grants of $2,500. "The Wing decided to use our limited resources to bring national attention and acknowledgment to what we feel are some of the most inspiring and innovative theater companies on our national landscape," grants committee chair Lucie Arnaz said in a statement. "Fewer grants for more money on a wider scale. It's a very exciting concept." This year's recipients are 1812 Productions of Philadelphia; About Face Theatre of Chicago; Boise Contemporary Theater of Boise, Idaho; Company One of Boston; Curious Theatre Company of Denver; The Flea Theater Inc. of New York; Profile Theatre of Portland, Ore.; Silk Road Theatre Project of Chicago; Synetic Theater of Arlington, Va.; and Triad Stage of Greensboro, N.C. The grants are intended for general operating support. A ceremony honoring the recipients will be held Oct. 25 at the Intercontinental Hotel Times Square in New York. http://www.backstage.com/bso/news-and-features-news/american-theatre-wing-announces-grant-recipients-1004116502.story
