Mot Morenzi
What does everyone think of Mattel's Lucy series? I only got a few of them (TV Commercial, LA at Last and Paris Gown) but I think the series as a whole was quite impressive. I thought the face sculpts were overall very well done. The Vitametavegamin one had the most authentic Lucy face, in my opinion, but most of them were excellent. The knife-throwing Lucy Tells the Truth one was the weakest looking to me. They did take some liberties with the coloring of the costumes. It's the only time I've ever seen the candy factory outfit depicted as being grey (although the later released Lucy & Ethel set depicted them as pink). Is it known what color the uniforms actually were? Also the maternity jacket was green instead of brown and her grape stomping skirt was blue instead of red. Not that it's a huge quibble. After all, costumes for black and white features weren't chosen for their color but rather how they photographed in black and white, so taking a few liberties there isn't a capital offense. Dontcha have any pics? I used to get the Hallmark Christmas ornaments, but then i'd give them away, now they dun't make them no more as in Ricky Ricardo's not here anymore? Luvsbway
I got a set of 12 ornaments years ago Columbia House did. Poor Lucy seems to loose a head or foot every year as I am a terrible decorator.

And stop that about the decorating, we've seen pics of your interior, so we know better, you've very good at it.
Annaleigh
I've noticed that back when they first started the dolls, they would do classic editions. So they were a bit like the classic Mattel dolls. Like the first Job Switching doll was one. But her face changed drastically every year. Haha. I like the early dolls better than the newer. But my favorites are the 50th and 60th, of course.

I agree the dolls were better when they first came out. I haven't liked Mattel since they started divided their dolls into labels (pink, black, gold, and platinum). It seems so snobby. Hope the Santa one is Fred and not Lucy or she could sue. I'm sure Viv was happy with the chocolate factory one, looks like she lost fifty pounds there. All of you are right about some looking like Lucy and others, not so much.

LucyFanForever
I've always liked the Mattel Lucy Barbie collection; currently I have only the Lucy Does a TV Commercial one. Guess I'll have t hunt the others down on ebay; seems like Fred as Santa is the hardest one to get.....yikes, the prices are so expensive for that one! Here's a picture of my Lucy Does a TV Commercial doll: (it might've come up upside down, sorry. )
