CULVER CITY, CA – Wednesday, July 23, 2014 – getTV puts the spotlight on esteemed comedienne Lucille Ball this month, with a special block airing Wednesday, August 6 -- what would have been Ball’s 103rdbirthday. The day kicks off at 11:05 a.m. ET, with THE FULLER BRUSH GIRL, starring Eddie Albert; followed by HER HUSBAND’S AFFAIRS; MISS GRANT TAKES RICHMOND, with William Holden; and the adventure epic THE MAGIC CARPET, Ball’s last film before captivating the small screen as Lucy Ricardo in I LOVE LUCY.
 
On Friday, August 8, getTV pays tribute to one of Hollywood’s most popular leading men, the incomparable James Stewart, with a three-pack of films as part of the Network’s Friday Icons evening block at 7 p.m. ET. The career-spanning retrospective includes Western favorite THE MAN FROM LARAMIE; as well as THE MOUNTAIN ROAD, and the whirlwind-romance MADE FOR EACH OTHER, with Carole Lombard.
 
Tune in for multiple Oscar® winners and nominees in the Silver Screen Favorites block, every Sunday at 7 p.m. ET. The star-studded lineup features original silver screen sirens Elizabeth Taylor and Katharine Hepburn in SUDDENLY LAST SUMMER (August 3); Gregory Peck gets MAROONED (August 10); Humphrey Bogart sets sail in THE CAINE MUTINY (August 17); THE MEMBER OF THE WEDDING (August 24), with Ethel Waters and Julie Harris; and Rita Hayworth shines in COVER GIRL (August 31).
 
getTV continues to highlight the best serials from Hollywood’s Golden Age, with a Thursday Film Noir roster dedicated to master detective The Lone Wolf, every week at 7 p.m. ET. Tune in for 10 capers from Columbia Pictures’ classic serial, including Warren William in THE LONE WOLF SPY HUNT (August 8) with Ida Lupino and Rita Hayworth; THE LONE WOLF TAKES A CHANCE (August 14); COUNTER-ESPIONAGE (August 21); and Gerald Mohr in THE NOTORIOUS LONE WOLF (August 28).
 
Then, saddle up your posse and ride off into the sunset with prolific Western hero Buck Jones, every Saturday in August starting at High Noon. The action-packed set boasts eight of the gunslinger’s most epic adventures, including THE LONE RIDER (August 2); RIDIN’ FOR JUSTICE (August 9); ONE MAN LAW (August 16); and HOLLYWOOD ROUND-UP (August 23), among others. The month wraps up with a day-long Buck Jones marathon on August 30.
