By the time I saw "Milton Berle Hides Out...", the western craze had passed and I didn't know what they were singing about, but 1959 would have been the peak of it with probably 20 western series on the air in the same season. Here's an episode of one: "The Deputy" that starred Henry Fonda. He must have been off the week this one was filmed. He does a voice over at the beginning and that's it. Seems to me that all westerns just recycled the same three plots.
