Neil Posted April 23, 2018 Report Share Posted April 23, 2018 This is one of Lucy's greatest variety show guest spots (tie with Dean Martin from the same season). Lucy never looked lovelier than she did in 1965. For a 54 year old woman, she's showing a LOT of thigh! But the capper is her "Poor Butterfly" flying act: probably the most fearless thing she did in her whole career. I had only seen this in black and white and given that there's a shift in the shot right before her assent, I assumed a stuntwoman had subbed for Lucy for her high wire summersaults over the audience. But I have since seen it in color, and it is indeed Lucy. The shift was probably a different set-up with the wires for her to fly over the audience. Amazing.
