Adding what follows to the July 24 chronology entry; hoping it helps Lucille Ball-Desi Arnaz 'fans' to understand what's been happening in Jamestown:

The Sunday Post-Journal, Jamestown NY - LucyFest2011 - Only the Beginning - "........the exciting and comprehensive details of what is in store August 3-7...you have seen details: 4000 tv ads; 5 regional electronic or print billboards; 400 radio spots; local, national newspaper articles or on our website at www.lucycomedyfest.com. LucyFest 2011 is packed with top-notch, nationally-known performers with entertainment opportunities for the whole family, with big chunks of the festival, such as the parade and the Party on the Plaza are absolutely free, with other events' ticket prices set to 'pack the house'. LucyFest 2011 is but a fraction of ... new vision. ... here is an outward-looking and inclusive Lucy-Desi Center for Comedy ...renewed focus on comedy and laughter. The Museum and Playhouse will become the foundation for our growth and development; a means to an and and not the end itself. The worldwide brand name of Lucy/Desi will develop a multifaceted sustainable comedy-based organization providing long-range benefits for our city and surrounding region. The Comedy Film Festival will be launced in 2012, culminating in the creation of the Lucille Ball-Desi Arnaz National Comedy Hall of Fame here in Jamestown. The Board of Directors and Executive Director have spent a great deal of time reinventing this organization and changing its culture and are confident we're on the right track. Support LucyFest 2011 and help us make it a huge success. Believe in our vision. Get involved by providing ideas and volunteering your time. Thanks for your support...Thomas P. Benson, President, Lucy-Desi Center for Comedy Board of Directors," published this date in 2011.

I spoke to Journey, the Executive Director, after the parade tonight and she wanted me to pass along that the president and board are ENTIRELY volunteers.

So Mr Wyman wasn't paid for all his hard work then?

Ric Wyman was Executive Director, an employee, so he was paid. The President and his/her board is a different matter.

It's like a city that has a paid Chief Administrative Officer, while the Mayor and Councillors are voluntary.
