Eddie Albert, Margo, and Jack Entratter

Were "Margo" and Eddie as a show-biz couple well-enough known that Harry's line from "Eddie Albert/Song & Dance": (quoted from memory) "Can't we just let MARGO take care of Eddie Albert?" made sense to a 1973-4 audience?

got the reference... But I'm a weirdo. You also hear Bing Crosby's wife Kathryn get name-dropped as a punchline once in awhile.

Recent clipping I found about Susan.

Susan Peters (23), tragic victim of a shooting accident last year,

is still unable to walk and is all but bed-ridden as a result of spinal paralysis. Susan, who is married to actor Richard Quine,

madeher first social appearance since the accident as honor guest at Lucille Ball's birthday party.

Lucille hired an ambulance to bring Susan from Beverley Hills to her Chatsworth farm.

Nov 1945

Are there any photos of Lucy and Susan together pre-accident?

I have yet to find any. Maybe they are hiding in someone's attic with all the photos of Lucy and Carole Lombard.

Well, in the spirit of Lombard here is one of Lucy and Gable (1946)

Speaking of which, I came across this quote on Instagram about Lucy and Desi, attributed to Clark Gable:

“They were the perfect couple. I never saw two people so in love.”

Any idea what article that quote came from?

Not a clue on the quote. Some info on the photo. This was from the radio broadcast of China Sea. If you've never heard it, you can find it for free online. The cross necklace, there are photos of Desi giving it to Lucy at Ciro's.

"Bob Hope's High Flying Birthday Extravaganza" -- Broadcast May 25, 1987

I think this was the one where they sang "I Remember It Well" with lyrics that matched their careers.

If only the producers hasn't cut Lucy out of the show! This might have been the best she looked during the entire decade.

What did Lucy do on the special? I've only seen a couple of clips on YouTube. I don't think the whole show is available.

Lucy reportedly introduced a salute to television. This segment, including Lucy, was completely cut from the television broadcast.

Lucy with Jimmy Stewart, the still-with-us Marsha Hunt, and William Wyler in 1938

I learned recently that the head in front is that of Ginger Rogers.  So this was maybe from one of the many Fonda, Stewart double dates.
