Saturday, February 11, the Center is offering a complete evening, starting with a cocktail hour of beer and wine in the Desilu Playhouse attraction (includes two glasses/person followed by cash bar). Enjoy the Playhouse with its replicas of the "I Love Lucy" television sets, original costumes and more. Then it's upstairs to the Tropicana Room nightclub with your choice of pineapple chicken, thyme roasted filet medallions or a grilled vegetable stack for dinner, accompanied by romantic music. A printed photo of each couple is included in the price of the evening. After dinner, the party moves to the Lucy Desi Museum for a private showing of the movie, "Too Many Girls," starring Desi Arnaz and Lucille Ball. It was on the set of "Too Many Girls" that Lucy and Desi first met. Seating is limited to 25 couples. Make your reservation by calling the Center at 716-484-0800 ext. 201 or ext. 249. Geez, maybe they should hire some real fans to work there so the history would be correct. Lucy was first seen by Desi on the set of Dance Girl Dance as she sported a black eye and had been in a nasty fight scene with Maureen O'Hara. He couldn't believe it when they told him she would be portraying the ingenue in TMG, but when he later met her all fixed up on the set of TMG, that's when he asked her if she knew how to dance the RHUMBA. They later had their first DATE at Eddie Bracken's house for a picnic, they came with other people but left as a couple. I guess they were only INTRODUCED to each other by the director of the picture and with thousands who have claimed to be there at the time, LOL! I guess it would have to be T W O sets as everybody and his brother has claimed to have been there and aren't there limits in the number of people that can be on the one set for fire insurance? LOL!
