Suffice it to say, LucyFest 2011, is packed with top-notch, nationally-known performers with entertainment opportunities for the whole family, with big chunks of the festival, such as the parade and the Party on the Plaza, absolutely free, with other events' ticket prices set to 'pack the house'. As great as LucyFest 2011 will be, it is but a fraction of what our new vision includes. Gone forever are the inward-looking and inclusive Lucy- Desi Center for Comedy, and a renewed focus on comedy and laughter. While we will continue to operate and improve the Lucy-Desi Museum and Playhouse, as key components of our mission, they will become the foundation for our growth and development; a means to an and not the end itself. We will leverage the strength of these components and the worldwide brand name of Lucy/Desi to develop a multifaceted, sustainable, comedy-based organization providing long-range benefits for our city and surrounding region. The Comedy Film Festival will be launced in 2012, culminating in the creation of the Lucille Ball-Desi Arnaz National Comedy Hall of Fame here in Jamestown. The Board of Directors and Executive Director have spent a great deal of time reinventing this organization and changing its culture and are confident we're on the right track. Support LucyFest 2011 and help us make it a huge success. Believe in our vision. Get involved by providing ideas and volunteering your time. Thanks for your support...Thomas P. Benson, President, Lucy-Desi Center for Comedy Board of Directors," published this date in 2011.

The same opening and closing graphics are used as in previous summers. These shows will now go into syndication, usually shown on the same stations that air daily re-runs of ('I Love Lucy'), this date in 1967” - Neil: “This Lucy-Desi Comedy Hour run marked the last time any network aired a black and white series in prime time. They ran every summer from 1962-1965. I'm only assuming they got howls of protest when they did not show up in 1966. The 1967 run showed all 13 episodes, ending with Paul Douglas. I don't think all of them ran any other summer. I do not believe they went into syndication right away. An LA channel ran them occasionally (as specials - not a series) in the mid 70s; but, I did not see them on the air until the We Love Lucy, 3-episode, 2-hour specials ran in the late 80s. At some point after that they were included in the ('I Love Lucy') package running as half-hour, two-part episodes. They also ran on NickatNite. Remember Saturday night Lucy where they'd run an ('I Love Lucy'), a The Lucy Show, and a Lucy-Desi Comedy Hour?” posted this date in 2011.

The Lucy Lounge website - Courtesy Dizzy4Arnaz - “Hi there: During one of my recent trips to the Goodwill store, I found this VHS tape that stood out for me to see William Frawley's name on the title. It is a 1937 musical called Something to Sing About, with James Cagney and Gene Lockhart; haven't watched it yet . Anyone heard from this or have seen it?” posted this date in 2012.

Sherman Hemsley, b. 2/1; actor, 59 films; co-star, All in the Family, 1973-78; The Jeffersons's, 1975-85; appears with Lucille Ball, co-hostess, Part II, CBS': On the Air, as co-host, Part VII, 1978; with Lucille, The Thirty-Third Annual Emmy Awards, a Presenter, 1981; as well as with Lucie Arnaz, CBS at 75, 2003; dies this date in 2012.

The Lucy Lounge website - Courtesy HarryCarter - “ . . . some of the Jamestown festivities! The Sunday Post-Journal, Jamestown NY - LucyFest2011 - Only the Beginning - "I won't take you through the exciting and comprehensive details of what's in store for you during LucyFest, 2011. By now, you have seen the details on some 4000 tv ads; 5 regional electronic or print billboards; heard them on 400 radio spots; or read them in local and national newspaper articles, or on our website at www.lucycomedyfest.com.
