Neil
Assuming she was the one who brought us the great Kathryn Card, not to mention Elizabeth Patterson, Charles Lane, the "Operetta" ladies and the entire authentic-appearing European support cast, GodBlessHer! I mention the Europe shows because in most shows, English speakers would be cast in these roles and do exaggerated accents. The "natives" she cast added so much luckel collar the Europe shows. HarryCarter
Is there anyone left who was there at the first I Love Lucy show now?
Brock
Is there anyone left who was there at the first I Love Lucy show now? I can't think of anyone off the top of my head. On a semi-related note, when did Zo Ball start working at Desilu before marrying Fred? 1954 or 55?
Brock
Thought of one person from Day 1 who is still alive -- I believe Desi's trumpeter Tony Terran is still alive at 87.
leenorman
I can't think of anyone off the top of my head. On a semi-related note, when did Zo Ball start working at Desilu before marrying Fred? 1954 or 55? Now, there is a piece of information I had NO idea about; tell me more, please.... And, how do we get informtion about Zo? Somewhere I got the information she, Fred, and Lucie A., all have the same birthdate, 7/17; and I don't even know WHERE I got that; interesting as it is; but, this information she and Fred met on the set is very interesting, indeed. Thanks if anyone knows.
Brock
Zo, Fred and Lucie were all born on July 17. Lucie mentioned that in Jamestown once or twice. Fred met Zo when she worked in the payroll/accounting department of Desilu.
vivfantoo*
What an excellent job she did casting talent for I Love Lucy. So many memorable shows, & lots of recurring roles for the really good actors & actresses. Neil is so right -- casting natives for the European parts really enhanced those episodes. Harry, I think the actress who played Marion Strong might still be alive. Her first name is Shirley but I can't remember her last name.

HarryCarter
Luckily, there are some I Love Lucy veterans still alive and even some from the first season like David Stollery, Sammy Ogg, and Janet Waldo. I don't think anyone besides Tony Terran is still alive who was there at the very beginning of I Love Lucy.
