Brock
One less living reference in the Autograph Annie & Celebrity Lu number. From People: Hollywood glamour girl Martha Hyer, an Oscar nominee when she played opposite Frank Sinatra in 1958's Some Came Running and memorable as William Holden's stunning society fiancée in the 1954 Audrey Hepburn romance Sabrina, died in her Santa Fe home on May 31, it was reported Monday by the New Mexican newspaper, which said she had lived in the town since the mid-'80s. She was 89.Besides the roles she did play, several of them in Westerns, Hyer was also known for a role that got away: victim Marion Crane in Alfred Hitchcock's 1960 classic, Psycho. Instead, that went to Janet Leigh. MORE: http://www.people.com/article/martha-hyer-oscar-nominated-actress-dies
Neil
Exactly what I was thinking. In fact, that's the only thing I can reference her to. Although I knew her name, I can't tell you anything she was in. Come to think of it, there are several "Autograph Ann/Celebrity Lu" people I know virtually nothing about : Helen Twelvetrees, Toby Wing, Vera Ruba Ralston to name 3. One less living reference in the Autograph Annie & Celebrity Lu number.

Brock
I swear to god I was watching that number at the same time I was reading this!!! I didn't catch her name anywhere; what part is she in? Here's the list of all the names mentioned in the number in order (I think -- except for one I can't make out). The ones in italics are from ann-Margret's part when she's singing under Lucy. I think Lizabeth Scott, Herb Alpert, Jane Fonda, Peter Fonda, Dewey Martin, and Marcy McGuire are the only references here that are still alive. Lucille Ball Eve Arden Fay Bainter Francis X. Bushman John Wayne Herb Alpert Greta Garbo Clark Gable Judy Garland Betty Grable Dorothy Gish Lilian Gish John Garfield Ava Gardner Greer Garson Elinor Glyn (?) Sonny Tufts (How'd that get in?!) Janet Gaynor Cary Grant Paulette Godard John Gilbert Lionel Barrymore John Barrymore Ethel Barrymore Groucho Marx Chico Marx Harpo Marx Zeppo Marx Harpo Marx Jane Fonda Peter Fonda Henry Fonda Al Jolson Larry Parkes Helen Twelvetrees Aldo Rey Butterfly McQueen Turhan Bey Franklin Pangborn Andrea King Vera Hruba Ralston Toby Wing Randolph Scott Martha Scott Lizabeth Scott Zachary Scott Joe E. HarryCarter
Martha Hyer is good in Some Came Running, but hers isn't a part that screams Oscar nomination. Hyer has an interesting supporting role in The Best of Everything, but most of her scenes ended up on the cutting room floor.

Neil
It IS very difficult to make out some, especially Ann's when they're singing counterpoint MY ear heard: Ann: "Groucho and Chico and Harpo and Zeppo and GUMMO Marx"(the fifth Marx Brother who left before the movies) Lucy: "Tony Martin, Mary Martin, Ruby Keeler also we got Sabu" Here's the list of all the names mentioned in the number in order (I think -- except for one I can't make out). sharon
I've always thought her character in "Houseboat" was a little weird. In that one, she's in love with her dead sister's husband (Cary Grant). When he falls in love with his nanny (Sophia Loren), she feels like he's mistreated her because she's loved him since she was a little girl.
