HarryCarter
This was a Holy Grail type of thing for me: Lucy's 1949 appearance on Inside USA with Chevrolet. This is Lucy's earliest TV appearance that I know still exists. (Does anyone know if Lucy's guest shot on Texaco Star Theatre a few months earlier still exists?) This is especially notable because this marked the first meeting between Lucy and Mary Wickes. This comes from the website of the Peabody Awards, which has quite a few programs in their collection. This appears to be the only Lucy program available. http://dbs.galib.uga.edu/cgi-bin/parc.cgi?userid=galileo&dbs=parc&ini=parc.ini&action=retrieve&recno=1&format=_citation Lucy makes her first appearance 18 minutes in. Luvsbway
WOW. What a fantastic find. Lucy looks to be having a blast and is super adorable. And FUNNY. You can see why this medium was such a good fit for her. I love the part with Mary. If only they knew what what was ahead of them and how good of friends they would become. Mary Wickes was in the Broadway production of Stage Door, but was not in the film version. Mary did not make her Hollywood feature film debut until The Man Who Came to Dinner at Warner Bros. in 1942. RodMcK1
I suspect this program is in the public domain, so maybe it could be a bonus feature on ILL Season 2 blu-ray?
