JoeySanJoaquin
LOVED his two shows and always sorry he never quite reached the stratosphere that Seinfeld and some of his other contemporaries did, talented as he was. Sad. In a related vein, happened upon an appearance last night on Seth Meyers of long-time comic -- who also hasn't reached, IMHO, the heights he should have -- by Louie Anderson, who briefly confirmed after brought up with the host that he had just celebrated his birthday (early 60s, don't remember the exact number). These two recent events are quite sobering to say the least. Rest in peace Mr. Shandling, and thank you for all your comedic contributions over the past 20, 30 years. Much appreciated.
Freddie2
Wow. This kind of blindsided me. He and his two shows are very, very underrated in the TV world. Unfortunately he never got his due.
Neil
'Larry Sanders' was my favorite show in the 90s. Loved Larry, "Hank" and "Artie", a Rip Torn unrecognizable from his "Critics Choice" days.
Freddie2
I always thought Larry Sanders was like the original 30 Rock.
HarryCarter
A reporter reflects on accompanying Garry Shandling to the 1989 White House Correspondents Dinner. It includes this interesting bit: He said he was a bit sad. One of his idols, Lucille Ball, had died a few days earlier and Garry was still in mourning. http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2016/03/25/my-white-house-night-out-with-garry-shandling.html
JoeySanJoaquin
Wow, just goes to show you never know who's a fan of whom! Now I wonder what she thought of him (if, that is, being a fairly "newbie" he was even on her "radar"!)?? Whoa!
