Happy 100th Birthday, Kirk Douglas!

Up to the point when the gorilla arrives on the scene "Hollywood Premiere" is a pretty good episode.  Besides the cameos by Douglas, Vince Edwards and Jimmy Durante, it had Reta Shaw in an uncharacteristically sympathetic role.  In all her other LS/HL appearances, she's a blustery, crabby old bag.   Is there anyone besides Reta that appeared in the first season of The Lucy Show and the last season of Here's Lucy?  Other than Audrey/Mary Jane?

Other people who appeared in the first season of The Lucy Show and the last season of Here's Lucy are Lucie Arnaz, Mary Wickes, Carole Cook, Sid Gould, Hans Conried, Elliot Reid, and Jerry Hausner.

That's a nice lengthy list...pretty impressive when you think about it! And thankfully, Miss Cook is not only still with us -- at 92!! -- but still working!

She has a featured "cameo" role in Del Shores "Sordid Lives" sequel opening in Palm Springs in March (I believe), "Sordid Lives Wedding", also featuring such great character actors as Leslie Jordan, Ann Walker and most of Shores' recurring "stock company"!  Can't wait! :HALKING:

I was just now reading this article from several months ago about Kirk Douglas.  The end of the article had me laughing out loud:

"[Kirk Douglas] once used sex to punish a woman he knew was an anti-Semite.

He said he took the woman to bed, keeping the fact he was Jewish a secret until the climatic moment, when he screamed:

'I am a Jew! You are being f— by a Jew!'”

Revenge is sweet.  :HALKING:

This is hilarious. Wonder if she cared at that point.

You'd think if they were doing it, she might have gotten a little ~tip off~ that Kirk is Jewish!

I know I'm six days late with this, but the joke only popped in my head this afternoon.

True...except you don't necessarily have to be Jewish to be ...you know.  Trust me!
