Luvsbway
Rare footage for the infamous 1958 Roast of Lucy and Desi. The one where Harry Einstein died. Lucy looks sad. http://www.producerslibrary.com/displayProduct1.do?product_id=6237&assetId=6237&product_name=CRV-0028_026
HarryCarter
Fascinating! I've heard the audio of the roast, but never seen any footage. Thanks for linking us to this site. I love finding new footage websites. Not to hijack this thread, but there are a lot of groovy silent clips of Lucy out on the town on the site. Quite a few I have seen still pictures of Lucy at, but had never known what the actual event was. Here are some highlights from the Producers Library site, although there's quite a bit more with Lucy: Warren Beatty charms Lucy at the Coconut Grove: http://www.producerslibrary.com/displayProduct1.do?product_id=189247&product_name=CRV-0037_006_002 Lucy performs at the "Operation Typhoon" benefit: http://www.producerslibrary.com/displayProduct1.do?product_id=17399&product_name=V-0034LL_016 Lucy and Desi at Hollywood Foreign Press dinner with Desi dancing with Debbie Reynolds. There's lots of footage of Debbie's next husband, Harry Karl, with his then-wife Marie McDonald. http://www.producerslibrary.com/displayProduct1.do?product_id=6467&product_name=CRV-0006_003 Lucy, Gary, and Desi Jr. at the premiere of "Thoroughly Modern Millie." It looks like Cesar Romero thought he was going to be escorting Ruth Knickerbocker and ended up with her mother-in-law. http://www.producerslibrary.com/displayProduct1.do?product_id=28577&product_name=RBV-006A_009_002
Luvsbway
Thanks for posting those extra clips. You do a better job of knowing who the other people are in them than I do.
