Brock
Great idea for a thread! You know, I kind of LOVE that "strange" plaque. I mean, they depict Fred in his snazzy "HOLLYWOOD OUTFIT!" That alone makes it a must-have!!

No disrepect to Cathy's Closet (it's an awesome store), but I hope the Center carries more of these items. Some they already have (e.g. the coasters), but others I'm still waiting on (e.g. new cookie jars).

Some they already have (e.g. the coasters), but others I'm still waiting on (e.g. new cookie jars). I try to buy equally between the two, Cathy has been there the longest (also has a lowest price guarantee) and the Museum is for a good cause. Joey, now that you say it I do notice Lucy's face is a little funny, but its still so cute!

rickee
A new Lucy doll from Ashton-Drake: http://www.ashtondrake.com/products/301560001_lucy-doll.html I totally agree for once..that this doll is great! If all of these manufacturers would realize that Lucy Ricardo was NOT ugly, nor was Lucille Ball! Hiring a TALENTED sculptor/artist/costume maker to execute a doll in face, form, realistic and accurate clothing is NOT that difficult a task. This doll FINALLY represents all that is right with Lucy merchandising. I applaud all who were involved. The true way of thanking them and showing support is to simply order one. Time are tough, but I highly recommend ordering this doll when you can. I for one have just done that.

jab5983
I ordered the Mattel 60th anniversary doll and an I love lucy 60th anniversary tshirt from 59lucylane.com I love both items! they arrived quickly and were packaged wonderfully! the prices were also much cheaper then the prices at the museum giftshop. it makes me happy to know that I am buying merchandise from people that are working hard to preserve Lucy's legacy. I will continue to do all my lucy shopping at Lucy lane. I am looking forward to my tour of the home and am hoping to attend the event at 59 Lucy Lane during festival weekend
rappy
I've been asked; don't know; so, I guess the best way to get an answer is ask rappy: How's business at 59LucyLane, in direct competition with the Center/Museum....I'm SURE we all WANT TO KNOW. Thanks for an anticipated reply.... Hi Joyce! I want to reply to your message as honestly as I can. First of all, 59lucylane.com is doing very well. It started a year ago when a friend asked if she could use the house for an on-line store to sell Lucy merchandise. I thought it was a terrific idea, considering that the merchandise would be shipped in a very lovely way. Everything is wrapped, and your merchandise arrives like a gift. Plus, the prices are cheaper than the Lucy-Desi Center. I want you to know, Joyce, that I have been very involved with the Center since Wyman was fired, and I am still not happy with all that remains. I know we have had our differences, but my best intentions were always for Lucy's legacy. I have failed to make a difference at the Lucy-Desi Center, and I can admit that, knowing that I have done everything in my power to help the very place that I donated over a million dollars to. There are still Ric cronies there, and the drama was still happening a year ago. That is how long I have been gone, and I decided to let a friend start 59lucylane.com. Frankly, 59lucylane.com is doing amazing. We are planning a garage sale in August for Lucy's birthday, and we will be selling Lucy lilacs that are sprouts from the original lilacs that Lucy looked at as a child. Please stop by and get a lilac from me to you. Mary Rapaport
Mrs Trumbull
Oh my Dear Mrs Rapaport, I know it has been quite some time since I have written anything, but I have been a bit under the weather. I have been meaning to write to you to tell you about the sweetest gift I received while "on holiday" I received the most beautiful package in the mail. It was so lovely that just gazing at the box was enough to warm my heart. Imagine my surprise when I finally broke the seal-- inside was the MOST attractive packing I have ever seen. I received a Lucy blanket to keep me toasty warm and my very own clipping from the lilacs at my dear Lucy's childhood home. This all came from 59lucylane.com!! It has come to my attention that you are somehow affiliated with this organization and I just had to let you know that if this is how you send all your packages then you my dear have a winner here! Feeling tip-top Mrs Trumbull

Dubarry31
Just got a flyer today from Ashton-Drake to advertise the new Lucy doll that has already been mentioned in this thread. Did you know that she talks? She says lines from the Vitameatavegamin speech and it also plays the theme song. It also says that this is the first of a series of talking I Love Lucy dolls.
