Mot Morenzi
Anybody else get a little tired of seeing Sid butt into so many episodes? I'd enjoy many TLS and HL episodes more if he didn't turn up so often!

I'd enjoy many TLS and HL episodes more if he didn't turn up so often! Well...certainly not the best actor but I like the fact La Ball utilized a "stock company" of sorts of recurring character folks and as we know, he was one of 'em.... So....doesn't bother me! Mot Morenzi
I wouldn't have any problems with him IF he didn't turn up so much! Overexposure you could say. That's what I have the issue with more than Sid himself.
Neil
He's pretty good in "kangaroo", which must be his first--with his well-rehearsed triple-take when he sees Lucy in the kangaroo outfit; and that little fingers-gesture he does when he's giving Lucy the message. If I'm not mistaken, this is also one of his biggest, if not the biggest, part he had. I do like seeing him and Vanda "the Lunts of the trailer park set" flirting with each other as Sam, coffee shop owner and Vanda. Was that only in the one episode "Goodbye Mrs. Hips"? Is his imdb LS/HL complete? Do we know how many and which episodes he appeared with and without lines?
Luvsbway
And he was not just on LS and HL but many LB specials as well.

Taylor
He looks like he was an annoying person. I read he was always bothering Lucy for more work and I think it was Irma K. who said she thought he was a creepy dude LOL.

Vanda and Sam seem to be going on an overnight trip together in "Milton Berle is the Life of the Party." Vanda and Sam must have been the talk of the office building. Lucille Ball fan
I think that Sid was good in the characters that he did. He was a waiter, delivery man, telephone repair man and so many other roles. I wonder if being Gary's cousin helped him get to work with Lucy? makewayforducklings
Sid Gould is like a few other actors from the 1960's/1970's that are fun to spot/recogmoze. I really can't think of any of today actors that are like the Burt Mustin, Parley Baer. Reta Shaw, etc whose face is very familair and work constantly in tv films, but whose name may escape the viewer.

Neil
He would play someone who'd go to a porn film at a theatre Probably just happened to be there anyway... He plays a bartender in a *seedy* gay bar in some 60s film. I don't know the movie but a scene was featured in "The Celluloid Closet" where some "questioning" man enters but is freaked out and leaves with a close up of Sid yelling in the nelliest style possible "Come BACK!". I don't know what pre-Stonewall gay bars were like but as depicted in movies, the very FEW times they are, they're always dens of sin and the men are ridiculous. The movie is Advise and Consent with Henry Fonda, Don Murray, and, in her film debut, Betty White. Spoiler: Don Murray's character, a senator, is blackmailed by an anonymous person who has discovered Murray had a relationship with another solider during the war. Murray goes to the bar to see his former lover. It does not end well.

C L A U D E
Wasn't Sid the baby in The Greatest Story Ever Told? I remember the movie scene in Celluloid Closet you mention Neil. Now i'll have to go look at Advise and Consent to look for Sid.
Neil
BETTY WHITE??? I'm going to have to watch that one. Although the gloom suffered by those who trod on the lavender side in those old movies can be a little depressing. Was Betty in another one before that one about 10 years ago? Re: the spoiler. Walking into a dark bar with the only face lit that of a leering Sid Gould would turn anyone straight...or murderous.
