Will
I was looking at a glimpse of TV before my time and was surprised to see at 13:37 a promo for a Lucille Ball Lucie Arnaz special I Never Loved My Daughter. It is about a dying entertainer trying to make peace with her daughter. Has anyone heard of this? Why wasn't it done if it was advertised? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7iFq-PMOv-U
Brock
"You've never seen anything quite like The New Odd Couple!" -- unless, of course, you have seen the old Odd Couple. Very intriguing find!
HarryCarter
I knew that it was written at the time that Lucy and Lucie planned to make this movie, but I thought it was said that it ended up being an untrue rumor. I had no idea that it was included in this ABC reel. This proves that it was not a rumor and there actually had to be some kind of planning with ABC. I wonder what happened. Thanks for bring this to our attention.

Taylor
Didn't they ultimately object to the title, saying they could never make a movie with that kind of title or something like that? Also they showed scenes of Lucy in Mame as the "dying entertainer." Strange. lol
C L A U D E
Wasn't there a movie with La Davis and her daughter played by the great Gena Rowlands that had a similar theme and story?

FreddieMertz
I honestly have never heard of this. (Why is Chariots of Fire playing in the background?)

C L A U D E
Maybe that film was going to air on ABC that Fall? All the networks played popular movies back then.
