Mot Morenzi
Such sad news. The second Designing Women cast member to die in less than a year. http://www.cnn.com/2014/10/09/showbiz/comedian-actress-jan-hooks-dies/
Taylor
Loved her on SNL and 30 Rock too. I wonder what she passed from. RIP, Ms. Hooks.
C L A U D E
Awww, sad, really liked her. Knew of her SNL gig but forgot she was on Designing women replacing Jean Smart. She was also the voice of Apu's wife on The Simpsons.
Brock
Oh no! She was always fantastic, from SNL, to Designing Women, to 30 Rock and the Simpsons and, my personal favourite, 3rd Rock from the Sun. R.I.P.
C L A U D E
OMG forgot she was also on Third Rock from the Sun. But MY favorite was when she appeared for what? FIVE years on SNL, doing great imitations of famous women like Ms Clinton.
Mot Morenzi
Her playing Nancy Reagan opposite Phil Hartman's Barbara Bush was a series highlight for me.
HarryCarter
How sad! She was particularly great as Verna on 30 Rock. This is probably my favorite SNL sketch with Jan: https://screen.yahoo.com/video-000000540.html
RodMcK1
This is sad. So young! I enjoyed her so much. Further, her era of SNL is my favorite. And, although very young at that time, I was around for the first cast. And I still think Jan's cast was the most consistently funny. Jan and Phil Hartmann, two of the all-time bests both leaving us way too soon.
Brock
This is probably my favorite SNL sketch with Jan: https://screen.yahoo.com/video-000000540.html I had never seen this one before. Hysterical!
C L A U D E
Yup, back in the day when SNL was funny. Great performers and well written sketches too.
JoeySanJoaquin
Yes ...despite the presence of stud muffin Adam Levine this seasons opener was gawdawful and downright painful! Here's hoping they rebound soon!
C L A U D E
Like I just said on another thread, I hope there's a tribute to Jan on this week's show.

C L A U D E
Jan was only 57, we still don't know what she died of, but she joins a rather lengthy list of former SNL stars who died much too young. John Belushi and Chris Farley were only 33, both died of a drug overdose. Gilda Radner, Danitra Vance and Tom Davis all died of cancer. Gilda was 42, Danitra 40 and Tom Davis was the old man at 59. Michael O Donoghue passed away of a cerebral hemorrhage at 54 while Phil Hartman got killed by his wife at 49 while Charles Rocket committed suicide at 56. Of course the show has had almost 150 cast members.
