There's a new book out about Lucy and Desi's trip to Jamestown for the premiere of Forever Darling. Looking forward to the pictures! Right now, Amazon has it for $32.75, down from the retail price of $50.

I got this 2 weeks ago and devoured it. The author is the son of the woman who was the Homecoming Queen for the festivities. If you are coming to Lucy Fest in August bring your copy and Chris will be signing them at Lucy Lane.

I plan on talking to him a lot about this book. I've been using it and the Post Journal to put together a time line of the 2 day event.

I remember seeing the author's mother when the center had an event commemorating the 50th anniversary of Forever Darling (one of my favorite festival events I attended). I'll definitely bring my copy in August.

Are there any color photos? She looked sensational in the ones I saw at the Fenton.

The book is absolutely amazing and one of my, if not THE, favorite ever done. If any fan has been to Jamestown it certainly makes an extra special connection.

I highly recommend everyone get a copy, you won't regret it!

GOT mine!  (See Premiere this Lounge) posted over there; several photos meaningful to me:  my Dad; my nephew; a former classmate brother; and ALL THE OTHERS.  There's one in there confuses me; have never read that Desi mom went with them.  See page 163; looks like her on the bed....  My dad:  page 106; w/his best friend; page 108;   PP 90, 91 (Dawson) (DeMarco) each an interview w/Lucy.  Thanks for the heads up regarding book signing in August.

Nice timeline! I'm interested in the route of the Forever Darling Special, especially to see if it went through my neck of the woods here in PA. I've found that it made stops in Pittsburgh and Philadelphia, but don't know if it stopped anywhere in between.

My copy hasn't arrived yet and it's starting to piss me off!

A few months ago I was doing some research to find out more about the customized rail car used on the train trip. I knew it was a Santa Fe. I didn't come up with a whole lot. I was hoping to find what life it went on to later, if it would be lucky enough to make it into a museum somewhere or if it just ended up being scraped. I got no where with that.
