HarryCarter
New York Post columnist Michael Riedel put Critic's Choice on his list of his favorite films about Broadway. http://nypost.com/2014/10/21/the-best-films-about-broadway-beyond-birdman/
Luvsbway
I saw that today. If Stage Door wasn't going to make it glad this did.
HarryCarter
I saw that today. If Stage Door wasn't going to make it glad this did. I was surprised Critic's Choice made the list over Stage Door, but I guess Critic's Choice does show what it is like to put on a Broadway show.
C L A U D E
Wow, always loved that movie. And remember the story about Henry Fonda, who did the stage version, telling Hope that he had quite a hit on his hands. Yet both Bob and Lucy hated the finished product. FreddieMertz
Didn't the movie get mixed reviews?
C L A U D E
I think they would have been happy with MIXED ones, LOL!
C L A U D E
Rachael Ray just reminisced about Lucy getting too much sun one time, from a sun lamp she said, instead of lounging in the sun as we know was the case but at least she mentioned Lucy. HarryCarter
According to the promos seen during SNL last night, the leads in the new NBC sitcom Marry Me will be dressed like Lucy and Ricky in their Halloween episode on Tuesday at 9:00pm EST. They may be zombie Lucy and Ricky or maybe their costumes are specific to The Black Eye episode.
C L A U D E
Gee thanks, will NOW be watching, never saw that promo as we get only commercials from here on the show.
Luvsbway
Caught Andrea Martin on Watch What Happens this week. She was asked about previous costars. In response to Gila Radnor she said the only one who she thought could match Lucy in what she was able to do with physical comedy.
C L A U D E
Mmmmmmmmmmmm, I guess, yeah. Gilda Radner was great, but she was never given the material that Lucy got.
C L A U D E
Ok, that Michael Feinstein special tonight on PBS sure was a surprise, talk about a special Lucy mention. He gets a straw hat and back up singers for his rendition of Cuban Pete, then he starts talking about I Love Lucy, they show several pics of the famous couple and then he tells us that he bought some material from the Johnny Mercer estate, in which he found another version of the I Love Lucy theme that had never been heard anywhere. He had just sung the version we know and that got a big hand, this other one got one also.

HarryCarter
Thanks for letting us know. I'm recording the rebroadcast. I saw Michael Feinstein and Lucie do a Johnny Mercer tribute concert at Carnegie Hall several years ago and Feinstein sang the I Love Lucy theme Mercer wrote. C L A U D E
It was the reopening of the Rainbow room after a five year renovation, it opened in 1934 so it's 8 0 years old. I can't believe you guys missed this, I told you about the one last week with Lady Ga Ga and Tony Bennett and at the end of it, they advertised THIS one. There's nothing on so it was a great FIND. When I heard the promo before it tonight, I heard Cuban Pete but had no idea he would do a whole segment on I Love Lucy and all. Always liked the guy, thought he just played piano but he sings well too, really belts them out, not a casual laid back singer, more of a Broadway type, LOL! Christine Ebersole, Cheyenne Jackson and Judy Squibb also performed. Only an hour though.

Brock
On tonight's episode with The Simpson, the family went to Blazing Guy -- a knockoff of Burning Man -- where Homer eventually gets into an argument with a hippie over tent construction: Homer: Listen here, Desert Arnaz, Homer Simpson knows how to pitch a tent!
