C L A U D E
I think the students at her Desilu workshop were the best example of that. She wore herself out, showing them what to do and getting them jobs but unfortunately finding out some were just perpetual students and she had to be a psychiatrist to them for those two years that she took them under her wing. C L A U D E
I wonder who Ivonne Coll was anyway? Was she the illegitimate child of Mrs Trumbull and Mr Ritter?
HarryCarter
I assume Ivonne Coll was in one of Lucy's seminar classes. I thought she might be the woman in the Sherwood Oaks class who asked Lucy to say hello to her mother, but listening to that seminar again, it isn't her. HarryCarter
Lucy has come up twice so far in Carol Burnett's Watch What Happens Live appearance. Carol did not talk about May 12, 1959.
Brock
Carol did not talk about May 12, 1959. !!! I find that hard to believe. Did she talk about April 26, 1989?

HarryCarter
!!! I find that hard to believe. Did she talk about April 26, 1989? Carol told her new "That's when they added the letter 'S' to my last name" story. Crap! I wanted to see this and forgot all about it! It looks like it will be repeated in a few hours. leenorman
What is 5/12/59? The infamous stage performance, with Lucille in front row? Thanks for your reply.
Luvsbway
Yep the one where Carol got the backstage visit.
C L A U D E
Yes, that story has had more performances than South Pacific, LOL! Glad to know Carol has finally moved on to another Lucy story, LOL!
leenorman
NOW, if she would just move her butt over to Jamestown; if they can give Jay Leno $60 thou; she should at least rate a plane fare!!! Sorry, I'm bitter!
C L A U D E
SIXTY THOUSAND DOLLARS for that loser leno??????? I agree, I can't believe Carol has not been asked to go pay tribute to her mentor.

C L A U D E
I can't believe she's not accepted then, ok? Maybe someone could write her a new Lucy story to tell, LOL!
Taylor
What about Betty White? A lot of these folks are getting "up" there lol. Not to be crass, but every last one of Lucy's friends is gonna be dead and then we're stuck with overpriced people like Leno coming to the Fest. Meh. Luvsbway
Sounds like my lament to my parents in 1996/97 when I wanted to go to the Loving Lucy convention in LA. I told them "These people are old. They will die soon. I have to see them now". Seemed like someone did die then shortly after each one. C L A U D E
Well, time marches on, I think Carol and Betty are definitely the two best guests the Festival could have and yes, in a few years they could both be gone. And Betty, being the oldest should be there first but I guess she's just too busy with work and her animals.
leenorman
SIXTY THOUSAND DOLLARS for that loser leno??????? I agree, I can't believe Carol has not been asked to go pay tribute to her mentor. She's been ASKED - way back when arrdubya was king.... I posted her note of 'if the stars aligned' or somesuch; you can find it, maybe in her appreciation (???) thread. Don't have time to look right now - might even be in the 'chicken' thread.... C L A U D E
Maybe she'll make time to come when she has absolutely nothing to do one year.
leenorman
Didn't 'someone' on this Lounge post this year, she got as far as Indiana (was it?) for Stewart's fund-raiser for the Museum in his name - that seems like a poke in the eye to Jamestown, WHADDYATHINK; and since Lucie is a close friend of hers, as well, wouldn't you think she would have some influence toward that end? It seems rather 'fishy' to me; maybe they weren't as good a friends as she would have us believe. They were 'rivals' in comedy, after all. C L A U D E
Lucy was her mentor, but Jimmy Stewart was her idol, and Stewart's Museum was ready to fold at one time, years ago.

Stewart's museum is in Indiana, Pennsylvania -- about a three hour drive from Jamestown, according to Mapquest.
