Brock
"She's a brilliant dancer and an excellent musician"! It's too bad they left out her pioneering work in the aviation and floral industries, which usually figures in these 1930s bio-blurbs. lol

C L A U D E
"She's a brilliant dancer and an excellent musician"! That's what publicists did, they lied and exaggerated everything. Not many people know that the truth is she was from Butte Montana, that museum is in the wrong city.

Luvsbway
You can see the B as well in the one shot. I've noticed a lot if she monogramed she used all 3 letters.

Yeah but if you noticed the B comes first on the pillow which is bizarre, who monograms their initials backwards? Maybe she was shacking up with Brian Donlevy?? Bette Davis??? Call the scandal mongers!! Seriously, makes me wonder if these "at home" pictures were taken at the studio who neglected to notice the pillows were monogrammed or thought they wouldn't be seen. HarryCarter
The proper or classy way to monogram in those days, especially for a young unmarried woman, was for the middle initial to be the last name. The monogram would have read "LBD." It looks like she's blocking the L.
Luvsbway
I think they were taken at home. I've seen initials very often pattern first, last, middle. The one in the middle is usually bigger though.
