Here's where we left off in the old thread:

So glad you're updating your website again, Tom. Your columns are always so insightful!

Oh my, you get to call him Tom? Did you notice in that recent posting on his site he referred to that other fan as LONGTIME fan and not her number one fan, so seeing as i've been a fan longer than him, that makes me . . . .LOL! :lucythrill:

I feel like Ethel, when she met Don Loper in his salon . . . oh Mr Watsonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn! :lucythrill:

Thanks, Claude... Nice to meet you -- and thanks for making me a "friend" the other day...(Claude, by the way, was my father's middle name...)

Unfortunately, some folks use special user names, and I don't know who's who...

I once asked you a question on your site and you answered me so completely and thoroughly, i was very impressed at the way you work. And your site was just incredible, it still is now that i know you're updating again. Brock will probably kill me for this but can I ask you just a couple of questions? How long did you work for Lucy and when did you start? Ok, just one more, did you ever consider writing a Lucy book? I have never heard one negative word about you from those famous Lucy insiders, the few that i know and have had some contact with, and you seem to be in the Wanda/Frank/Madelyn group of incredibly nice people who surrounded her. :peachonthebeach::professor::lucydesi::ill:

I used to be Onlyonesubject as i only talked about Lucy, when everything had been covered, TWICE, i switched to MORETHANONESUBJECT to diversify somewhat, i was SPLAIN at SitcomsOnline, and my middle name is Andre which was supposed to be my name with Claude being MY real middle name but like Lucy's Susan, it got swishhed! Your website has to be the most professional looking site, why the heck didn't the Lucy people contact YOU for their Lucille Ball site which never has anything on it?

So glad to see your site being updated going to have to check more often now! :)

Loved the Emmy memory and the little sneak peek of what will be on TLS season 6 DVD. Got me even more excited for it in a few weeks! :)

Thanks, Joe...

I think Claude may be asking whether I would ever consider writing a book about my personal experiences with Lucy, and, if so, the answer is "no."

People have asked from time to time, but I really would not be interested in writing such a book. (Maybe I just don't have the ego for it!) Don't get me wrong, I love writing about the Lady -- obviously! I've been doing it most of my life! -- but she is always the focus. If, from time to time, I can throw in a personal observation to further explain a situation, I am more than happy to do that...

Speaking of which... there's a second reason as well --

When I was working with her, I noticed that she loved to read non-fiction, especially celebrity biographies (which is also a favorite of mine)... So I asked her one day why, out of all the books on her and my shelves, she is quoted in next to none... She said that she didn't like to "kiss and tell." She said that whatever happened between her and another celebrity, good or bad, probably happened in a work situation, and she did not think it right to turn around a decade or two later and "tell tales out of school."

When situations arose in which an author were writing a book about a celebrity and came to Lucy for an interview, Lucy would often call that celebrity and ask if he or she was cooperating with the author and/or would they mind if she (Lucy) spoke with the author... Whatever that celeb said determined whether Lucy spoke with the author or not...

Lucy's not here for me to ask...

But if I can continue to share information about the nice Lady from time to time, I will be happy to do so...

I hope I answered the question... Thanks, Claude, for asking...

Back photo? Is that the one in her Chatsworth ranch garden, looking so hot even if you're gay, you'd wanna bang her on the spot?

Oh yeah, you answered it in your usual fashion, thoroughly indeed! I guess if you look up THOROUGHLY in the dictionary, your picture's there. I have never in all my born days heard of anybody so perfect for writing, never boring, always to the point and never missing anything in the process, thanks for that. I just knew you were going to say that, you seem to be one who could never criticize her or make judgments, in other words, a real sincere loving FAN to the end. And your explanation makes sense, i join both of you in loving bios, they're the only books i ever read although as i age i am starting to add history and other special subjects that interest me. Loved that part about authors usually making it about them, i laughed out loud at that one, but i had nobody particular in mind, LOL!

And YOU my good man, are the closest to him when it comes to interesting, well written, well thought out material. Although Brock and Harry are snipping at your heels.

Maybe I'd better save those "for my book!"

Suffice it to say that I was a lifelong fan and that our paths crossed many times before I went to work with her full-time in the mid-1980s. We met in New York in 1970 when I was working at SSC&B Advertising (Sullivan, Stauffer, Colwell and Bayles)... SSC&B was the advertising agency representing Lever Brothers. My "job" at the time was to read every HERE'S LUCY script and watch every completed episode (as it arrived from California) and make sure the client's interests were well taken care of... (Imagine, getting PAID to watch one of your favorite television shows!) The only thing Lever ever complained about was Lucy Carter always serving/drinking coffee -- Lever owned Lipton Tea, and wanted her to take "tea breaks."

Now you see, there's a great chapter right there! GREAT story, as usual. If you won't submit to an interview here, how about just one private PM to you, i'd like to get your thoughts on just a couple of thins. AND seeing as i have a BIG MOUTH, i'm warning you now that i would just want your opinions on certain subjects but nothing that i could repeat to anyone, just you saying yes or no on a couple, i know, A COUPLE OF WHAT? :lucythrill:
